Pastor James Uyeda leads from a God inspired call to multi-cultural ministry. He was born and raised in Japan. During his early years, he attended Far Eastern Academy in Singapore, where he gained a deep appreciation for different cultures and customs. Later, he attended Pacific Union College, majoring in Psychology and Theology. Upon graduation, Pastor James received a ministry assignment which brought him to Orange County where he served as the first pastor of the WGS Japanese language congregation.
After receiving his Master of Divinity degree from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University, Pastor James returned to serve as the Associate Pastor over the entire WGS congregation. Pastor James is now working along side the elders focusing on the in-reach aspect of our church.
Pastor James is married to the former Sachi Matsumoto, the love of his life, and they have a son, Jayden, a daughter, Kylie, and two dogs named Max and Kai.
